At AAVAA, he oversees scientists and engineers, manages operations, and handles financial needs, driving innovation and advancing technology.

He also reviews projects for various grant and investment organizations, including the Canadian government and MEDTEQ+.

Basic skills: 

  • Advanced material synthesis of biocompatible materials (composites, fibers, polymers, etc.) with the goal of attaining improved material properties and/or additional functionality (thermally/electrically conductive materials, nanocomposites, sustainable polymers, etc.)
  • Biosensor materials development and characterization (DSC, TGA, DMA, rheology, Instron, chemical analysis, spectroscopy, etc.)
  • Materials processing and testing (twin screw compounders, physical milling, solvent milling, instron, nanoindenter, etc.)
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and specifications (SAE, ASME, ANSI, etc.)

Preferred skills: 

  • Material chemistry, physical properties, formulation, and/or processing, of polymers
  • Design for manufacturability practices for low and high volume output
  • Material development for manufacturing in healthcare and/or medical devices
  • Familiarity FDA, QSR, cGMP, ISO13485, and EU rules and regulations.
